Dear Friend,

Welcome to Lost Art Cards and Designs.

You might find tiny bouquets on paper, pretty places, words of encouragement, the artwork of others, or a quote from a good book.

My hope is that you will find something that delights the eye of your heart and remains a part of you for a lifetime.

One facet of the creativity in my soul.

Blooming Hat

It has been a long and busy summer. But now that my daughter's wedding is over and school started, it is FINALLY my turn to do some fun and creative things.

Today I made a hat, or rather, I should say, decorated a hat. I wanted a funky, pretty, bright hat to wear on a walk to raise money for children with heart problems and today I made one.

Materials Used:

~one white baseball hat from Art Media
~iron-on appliques from Patch-It-Up!
~Rhinestone Stickers from Darice
~Dress It Up Buttons from Jesse James and Co., Inc.
~Busy Butterflies by Blumenthal Lansing Co.
~Fashion Fabric Markers by Marvy

Unfortunately I won't be able to walk for them this fall, but next year I am looking forward to fully participating.

I would appreciate your comments on my newly decorated hat below. Thanks!

Just a Quick Note

As you may have noticed there have been no new posts for quite some time. My oldest daughter is getting married in August and we have been very busy planning her wedding. I am hoping to find some time to stamp, but I doubt I will get much of a chance.

Most of my days have been spent taking one of my children to a job or activity, doing regular errands, or keeping regularly scheduled appointments. When I am not running all over the place, I am taking care of my home, reading a book, or just sitting around trying to regain something of myself.

Spring Love collage cards

I found this beautiful Love Rose stamp made by My Sentiments Exactly while browsing at one of our local craft stores.  The ideas began to flow one weekend and I was able to make three different variations of a favorite time of year captured on a paper card.
I began to experiment with the color of the letters and decided to use some of the rich brown tones made by Versa Color ink and then tried a variety of of Rubber Stamp Tapestry sets , unable to choose which result I liked the most.  Using a variety of Cuttlebug's embossing folders and colored papers, I sanded some of the raised portion of the embossed design and then glued the completed stamped design on top of brown cardstock folded to make a card.  Edging the stamped portion of cardstock with chalk or inks deepens the shades of the colors used in the design and makes the whole effect of the card stand out.  After assembling the card  I used a coordinating color of Stickles and then used sheer brown ribbon at various places to accent the card.

Misty Vintage Garden

Backyard Berry Garden

Saturday we had Berry Strata for breakfast.  Though our main entree didn't last long, it prompted me to make this card using my new Berries and Buds stamping set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.

Using one of  Sizzix Fruit and Vine embossing folder set,  running a sheet of white card stock through my Cuttlebug Machine I began to imagine what could be done with that beautiful imprinted design on the paper.  Getting out Pebbles chalks I shaded the berries, leaves and vines using matte and shimmer chalks.  I also shaded the background with a pale shade of shimmer chalk, then edged the border with  VersaInk,
Raspberry.

Cutting the design diagonally I placed each half on the edges of raspberry textured cardstock and used a scrap of mini lime green rickrack to embellish the center of the card. After assembling the pieces I used Diamond Frost Stickles to make dewdrops on the berries and leaves.

Please feel free to comment below, I look forward to hearing from you.

Sweet Baby Hearts and Flowers

The Sweet Baby Hearts and Flowers card was designed using the Baby Set, the Tailor Heart set, and the Thank You Crochets set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.

Sitting inside watching the snow gently fall to the ground a few weeks ago gave me the time to experiment by putting several of these sets together and this is the result.

Out of the remaining paper I also made a few gift enclosure cards to match. I welcome your comments, please post them below.
