While perusing the Clearance section at Micheal's I found these soft planner/travel journal covers and could not resist the price ( $ 3.47!!!) I purchased three, knowing they would make a sweet little gift for someone I love. Before beginning my project, the covers were plain- not the completed project you see here.

Instead of scrapping personal photographs, I made a small chipboard scrapbook found at Michaels, of memories I had while growing up--things we did together, the places we went together, songs we sang in the car, or games we enjoyed playing-- using vintage images from the internet, Tim Holtz Ephemera, Tissue Collage Paper, lost art cards and designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11876501398448372148noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385851336086751036.post-58205339753508686932018-07-23T16:39:00.001-04:002018-07-23T16:39:09.813-04:00Watercolor Card ClassHello and Happy Summer to everyone!
The day was perfect. The beautiful weather was calling me. Cooler summer temperatures with low humidity made it oh so tempting to begin this fun Online Card Class, Watercolor for Card Makers while sitting on my deck enjoying the hours before running off to work. Since reducing my hours to part time I have been able to enjoy creativity more often.

This is the first stamping project I have made in many months. I hope you like it. When I began "wish" I was unaware of the Simon Says Stamp contest for all crafters. It has been months since I have posted anything. The last 8 months have been spent learning a new job as the Financial Secretary of our Church-- and it has challenged me quite a bit. Because of recovering from chemotherapy and getting over fatigue , I find it difficult to concentrate on the tasks of employment and being creative at the same time - its just mentally tiring! lost art cards and designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11876501398448372148noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385851336086751036.post-84525259992264664512016-12-03T12:49:00.002-05:002016-12-03T16:49:04.873-05:00Tiny Christmas Greetings

I love Autumn. Walking outside, shuffling though the leaves on the ground, the warmth of the sun and the anticipation of a hot beverage waiting at home are some of my favorite things about this season.

I made this farm themed card for my husband's coworker to thank him for the freshly picked corn he brought in to work to share with us. Yummy, delicious and definately a welcome addition at our dinner table! The stamps from both Petite Places: Barnyard and On the Farm sets from Papertrey Ink were the perfect choice.

Today I worked on several techniques using Ranger Distress Products.
These tags were made using Distress Offset Stamping with Waterbrush, Distress Washed Watercolor, and a combination of techniques learned on Day 1.

Stamp a Faire 2016
Fun with Gold Leaf Paint! Yes, I am going to like this technique!
This tag was made by adding several layers of Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy to watercolor paper. I kept adding layers until I got the color I wanted. The filigree tag was painted with Plaid Liquid Gold Leaf paint. It adds a very pretty effect.

Stamp a Faire 2016
The next card was made from the inspiration of the Master work of Vincent Van Gogh. I have admired his artwork for many years, but did not know his personal history which I found fascinating.
Watching the video gave me a taste for learning more about this great artist. I was also inspired by the work of Amy Sheffer who taught how to combine certain ink colors to make a night lost art cards and designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11876501398448372148noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385851336086751036.post-88053084009332990302016-07-23T17:49:00.003-04:002016-07-23T17:49:47.046-04:00Four Season Card , Stamp a Faire 2016
While drinking coffee and waiting for Cinnabon Rolls to come out of the oven , I sat on our deck and watched the first video. We were challenged to choose a Master Color Recipe from a selection of famous art Masterpieces as well as a color scheme recipes.
I chose Date in a Park by Leonid Afremov as my inspiration for this card. A first time participant! I have been looking forward to this event for quite some time!
I pre-ordered the free Art with Heart set...which was instant love for me! I love florals, watercolor and quotes in pretty fonts.

Yesterday I made this bookmark for my grandson who just began to read! I used many layers of ink, stain, paint, and glitter, but like the way it turned out. I wanted to express my joy in his accomplishment.
I found an inexpensive package of library pockets at our local craft store, and inked around the edges and inside background to give it a vintage look.  lost art cards and designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11876501398448372148noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385851336086751036.post-33932481330699152592016-07-17T20:06:00.002-04:002016-07-17T20:06:43.114-04:00Vintage Crackle Glass and matching card front..or something

Today I made this beautiful fall tag. I wanted to experiment with applying ink in several colors to produce the effect you see underneath the printed acetate overlay. I tried this instead of using a brayer and was able to achieve the lightly inked effect in 5 steps. I wanted to share this technique with you, I don't recall ever seeing it used before, so I may have invented it, lost art cards and designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11876501398448372148noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385851336086751036.post-13655245822595257582016-07-13T21:44:00.001-04:002016-07-13T21:44:19.316-04:00Joyous Fall Collage Tag

If you are able to ignore the bits of tissue tape on the background you will notice that part of the paper is a very light grey textured pattern. Setting out to find a coordinating paper match for my marbled manila tag, I decided to make my own.
